Conversions

For all those recipes where you need to convert measurements, here are some of the main ones to make your life easier.

Weight and Volume

1 ounce = 28 grams

1 pound = 453 grams

1 teaspoon = 5 ml

1 cup = 250 ml

1 fluid ounce = 30 ml

1 gallon = 3.8 litres

Of course every oven is different so it is best to cook by the recipe (ie. cake done when skewer comes out clean) and get to know how your oven to see how it performs.

And a few others that come in handy from time to time…

1 t of dry yeast = 3.11 grams

1 cup plain flour = 150grams
